I just got paid for my first Audible project. That’s pretty cool. It’s not retirement money, but at least I can call myself a professional now. Hah!
It’s a big deal, but not THAT big of a deal. The QA review will undoubtedly come back with a ton of edits, which I’m eager to get to. I learned a ton in the lead-up to getting that first gig, and 10X more in doing it, and I’ve learned even more since. So, I can bring a lot more experience to that one, and all future recordings.
Some might ask why I’m posting my FORTIETH audition. Shouldn’t I have a lot more things under my belt before I do something like that? My answer: why? I’m starting something new here. I’m in the pay-your-dues stage of the game, and I’m all in on it. This is how it’s done, whether it’s audiobook narration or anything else. You just have to start and keep going.
Cheers,
Christopher
